Lilith + Gender⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It is reductive to think that a male deity is for males and female for females and 'Two Spirit', 'Double Spirit' and androgynous deities for those that identify that way and so on.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Divine is whole. Read that again... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We still operate in a world of duality that is trying to break free of that box. But the Divine is complete and has a particular movement of energy to imbue us with that transcends our human understanding of... everything, basically.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lilith has long been claimed as the Feminist Goddess, and as we know all genders can be feminist.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But there is a particular lesson She has for women who have lived with very specific projections since their conception. Those projections are actually epigenetic, ancestral and still deeply engrained in how we see them, ourselves and the world.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This isn't to say that Lilith doesn't have a whole lot to teach every single gender. She does. She is deeply needed because of this.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Encountering Lilith is open to all genders and comes with a message of liberation that goes deeper than gender. Lilith + Sex⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Because the most often told part of Lilith's story is that She refused to be on the bottom for sex with Adam, She is deeply associated with sex and sex magic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sure, it's an easy leap, but it's a superficial one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That's not to say that this detail isn't important. Because when we begin to unpack it, that superficial way of telling the story is filled with code for a much deeper soul expression, especially in the context of being a woman in human society since the advent of Patriarchy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The layers of truth, power and mystery to this one act are things we can literally spend years on, and some of us will, in fact, get to do that.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But for now, know this: Pleasure and responsibility for our own pleasure is a portal to the intrinsic power in our magic and capacity to manifest.
