ABOUT FULL MOONS

Every month the Moon reaches its fuller phase when it makes an exact opposition with the Sun. It’s the peak of the lunar cycle, when emotions are heightened and when something subconscious rises into the conscious awareness. Also, it symbolizes completion, when we see the results of what we began during the New Moon of its same zodiac sign. This makes it perfect to celebrate if you see the blooms of the seeds you planted and/or an opportunity for reflection and gaining emotional clarity on a situation.

FULL MOON IN TAURUS

The Blue Moon will occur at 8 degrees Taurus, an Earth and Fixed sign ruled by Venus. This is the second Full Moon of October and it falling on Halloween makes this necromantic evening extra powerful for our Samhain rituals. This lunar event will occur in a perfect conjunction with Uranus, a disruptive, awakening and revolutionary planet, indicating that radical and unexpected changes are coming. However, a few hours before, it will conjunct Black moon Lilith, which has just entered taurus, meaning that this is turbulent Full Moon since the primal dark emotions may be felt in our emotional body as the unconscious rises from underground and is made conscious. This lunar event then has a more intense lunatic energy than past ones, so beware of provoking those that tend to repress their anger as they may suddenly erupt.

The exalted energies of the Moon in Taurus indicates that what is being disrupted by Uranus is what we have before considered to be secure, comfortable and that gave us a sense of familiarity and home (Moon in Taurus). However, because of the oppositions between Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio and Uranus this month, we may have already become aware that they no longer adapt to the changing times and let our personal reinvention happen. For instance, with such a lunar climax happening at the midpoint between the Fall Equinox and the Winter Solstice, it’s time to let go of our resistance to change in order to come out of stagnation and transform our lives.

THE SCORPIO & TAURUS POLARITY

Every Full Moon in Taurus happens during Scorpio season. Thus, both energies will be activated during this Full Moon. Taurus, ruled by Venus, is the sign of security, stability and value, explaining why the Moon, ruling over our emotional world, family and home, is exalted in this sign and why Uranus is at a fall. Scorpio is traditionally ruled by Mars, planet of war and action and it’s modernly ruled by Pluto, the lord of the underworld and planet of transformation. Thus, Scorpio destabilizes Taurus, explaining why Uranus is exalted in this sign and where the Moon is at a fall.

As both signs are ruled by Mars and Venus, it turns this polarity into a highly passionate one waiting to erupt. Taurus is the volcano, and Scorpio is the lava. This last sign teaches Taurus about extremes, when things need to die, to end or to transform. It’s through understanding this that Taurus knows when to step out of stagnation or of a place where it has endured a lot. This sign, however, teaches Scorpio about the need for stability and security. However, since all opposites are two extremes of the same thing, hence, the same fixed modality and compatible elements (Earth & Water), both are possessive, highly sexual, passionate, obstinate and resistant to change.

SCORPIO SEASON’S LUNAR CYCLE

With the Sun in Scorpio and Mercury Retrograde, we are erupting suppressed emotions, letting go of the toxic contained within, finding the antidote to the poison, healing aspects of our shadow, changing the course of our path and learning what we should no longer allow into our lives. It’s a time to honor the cycles of life/death/life, to destroy in order to create and this is why we have a groundbreaking Full Moon in Taurus that will reveal to us what needs to transmute in our lives. This lunar event will then open a two week window in which while the Moon wanes, we shed from the old layers so that the new begins to resurface starting from the transformative New Moon.

MERCURY RETROGRADE DURING THE FULL MOON: ILLUMINATIONS AND THE HIDDEN BEING REVEALED BEFORE THE NEW MOON IN SCORPIO OF NOVEMBER 15TH

On October 25th, one week before the Full Moon, the Sun and Mercury were exactly conjunct in the sign of Scorpio. This aspect always happens at the middle of this planet’s 21 day retrograde transit. This conjunction with the Sun is known as the ‘New Moon’ of its 116 day cycle, as after it, its waxing hemicycle is restored. It represents Mercury’s descent to the underworld and a time when the fog begins to dissolve and we begin to experience inner clarity.

Thus, this Full Moon is the emotional climax of what Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio opposite Uranus began stirring since the start of the month. This is when the bells will finally ring to announce that a radical change of perspective is coming after the volcano finally erupted and when earth trembled to emerge the hidden skeletons from underground. Hence, the occult will be revealed and clarity will come gradually in order to make the adjustments that this transit required for us to revise before the new lunar cycle. Thus, these next two weeks are ideal to prepare for this New Moon since Mercury will be forming its last opposition with Uranus, representing the last bang while the new cycle already initiated.

MERCURY RETROGRADE AND VENUS IN LIBRA

However, on October 27th, Venus and the planet of communication entered Libra, highlighting an important time for relationships. Since the hidden may come to light and the unspoken may finally become expressed because of the lunar energies, these transits are perfect as they will be helping us come to solutions and agreements in order to end conflict and restore the harmony. Mercury will station direct on November 3rd, will return to Scorpio on 10th and will make its third and last opposition with Uranus on the 17th.

FULL MOON CONJUNCT URANUS RETROGRADE AT 8 DEGREES TAURUS

Uranus is exalted in the sign of Scorpio, for as explained, it’s the sign of transformation and this planet loves change and progress! However, it’s in Taurus, signifying that it’s bringing its disruptive energies to where it’s mostly disliked. However, it’s needed in order to come out of a state of stagnation and the comfort zone. Uranus energy works like a lightning bolt, changes come unexpectedly and inevitably.

However, Uranus is currently retrograde and it will not station direct until January 14th, meaning that the complete transmutation of a situation may actually happen after it stations direct. Thus, the complete external changes and the transformation may actually be seen in the next few months, but more precisely when it reaches the same 8th degree it was during this Full Moon. This means that changes may be slow, although they’re radical and inevitable.

FULL MOON IN TAURUS: WHAT IT MEANS FOR THE COLLECTIVE

In addition, Taurus rules over our personal resources and what has material value since it’s associated with the 2nd house; and Scorpio rules other people’s money like banks, stocks and investments and goods of the dead like inheritance as it’s associated with the 8th house. For instance, for the collective, this Full Moon announces transformative and radical changes to the economy.

This is already happening because the New Moon in Taurus of April 22nd also happened conjunct Uranus, coinciding with the time when the economy began to crumble due to the pandemic. For example, people began receiving stimulus checks from the government, (Scorpio), there was a coin shortage in stores (Taurus), brick and mortars closed permanently while e-commerce remained and prospered. Thus, businesses needed to adapt to this new reality and the best way to do so was through turning to technology and moving them online (Uranus in Taurus).

Thus, now this Full Moon in Taurus conjunct the planet of reinvention, revolution, the internet and technology comes to bring this to a climax. What was before considered to be crazy, volatile, unstable, insecure, risky (Uranus) may now become the new normal and the most stable and secure, like Bitcoin and making money online. Of course, this was all possible before, but it may now become the new normal when not long ago people that made money this way were told to “get a real job”. Therefore, this Full Moon gives us the first preview of what 2021 will be about with Saturn and Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius square to Uranus throughout the year!

BLACK MOON LILITH IN TAURUS: OCTOBER 21ST – JULY 21ST, 2020

On October 21st, Black Moon Lilith, the dark and wild feminine, that represents our unconscious and shadow self, entered Taurus, bringing its chaotic and disruptive influence to the same area of life where this Full Moon will transit. This indicates that what may be illuminated is what we may need to liberate and purge from. Remember that one of the themes of this lunar event is that it will reveal the hidden and so this reinforces that we will be releasing also what has been in our life or our psyche for too long, making this Full Moon extremely cathartic and ideal to let go what no longer serves us or adds value to our life.
