ABOUT NEW MOONS

The New/Dark Moon marks the beginning of an emotional cycle that will reach its climax in six months with the Full Moon of the same zodiac sign. Every month it happens in the same sign and degree as the Sun. Thus, it occurs when both luminaries are in a perfect conjunction that results with the Moon being completely overshadowed. Symbolically, this merges our external identity/conscience (Sun), with our inner, subconscious world and emotional nature (Moon).

This is when the waning moon has reached completion and it’s in its darkest phase, making us go deep within. Therefore, it’s still a moment of stillness, recharging and for retreating. However, as it also represents the time to plant seeds, and the Moon approaches to display its first silver line, it’s perfect to set intentions that you want to manifest in sixth months with the Full Moon.

NEW MOON IN GEMINI

The New Moon will occur at 2 degrees Gemini, an air and mutable sign ruled by Mercury. This lunar event will initiate a new emotional cycle of six months that will be bringing fated changes and a revamp to an area of our lives. This makes it excellent to set intentions around what we desire to shape-shift and to write a new story by modifying it to one that’s aligned with our soul path or core desires. This is because the Full Moon in Gemini that will bloom the seeds we planted during this New Moon, on November 30th, will be a Lunar Eclipse. These cosmic events always bring karmic changes because they occur in the same sign or close to the nodes of destiny. Hence, they align us with our evolutionary path.

MERCURY AND VENUS RETROGRADE IN GEMINI, SIGNIFICATORS OF THIS NEW MOON

Venus stationed Retrograde in Gemini on May 13th, and although it will not be in a tight aspect with the luminaries during their exact conjunction, Mercury, the ruler of this New Moon, will be exactly conjunct Venus! This signifies that both Mercury and Venus Retrograde are significators of this lunar event. Further, both will be making an exact tense alignment with Neptune, the planet of illusion and deceptiveness. Thus, since Venus will be emerging a new form of expression around venusian matters in our lives, before her rebirth, she will strip from the garments and shed the skin that covers her soul and authentic self.

Therefore, the New Moon is ideal for self exploration and for reflecting upon which aspects of yourself or your life are no longer aligned with your soul’s desires, purpose or mission. In addition, although it’s not ideal to begin something new, it’s perfect to make changes of what you already began. Since Venus have been a few days retrograde before this New Moon, you may feel already cognizant on what exactly in your life needs a revamp. With this lunar event then, it’s ideal to begin making changes and adjustments.

THE NEW MOON WILL INITIATE ECLIPSE SEASON

This New Moon in Gemini will initiate Eclipse Season because the next Full Moon, which will occur on June 5th in the sign of Sagittarius, will be a Lunar Eclipse. This lunar event will be right opposite Venus since it will occur just a couple of days after the Sun and Venus inferior conjunction (the Venus Star Point).

VENUS RETROGRADE & THE VENUS STAR POINT

This aspect between the Sun and Venus will occur on June 3rd, and it always happens in the middle of Venus’s retrograde transit. Analyzing it from goddess Inanna’s myth, it’s when she descends to the underworld and is killed by her shadow sister Ereshkigal. What this signifies is that Venus Retrograde will be bringing a metamorphosis, a death and rebirth to what this planet represents, which is the energy of love, manifestation, creation, harmony and fertility in the area of life it’s transiting in our chart.

THE REBIRTH OF VENUS

In simple words, what this means is that it will be emerging a change of dynamic and a new form of expression in that area so that’s aligned with our individual spiritual mission or true self. With the Venus Star Point, it’s when we may become clear of what we truly desire, what path we want to follow and about how we can connect more with our authentic voice and expression. For instance, the Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius will illuminate what isn’t authentic to us anymore, making it a potent time to release as Venus will be in her cocoon stage, invisible from our geocentric point of view. The rebirth of Venus or the emergence of the butterfly will happen on June 10th, which is when it will finally appear in the morning sky. This is when we may begin to see the changes manifest.

WHAT IT MEANS THAT ALL OF THESE TRANSITS ARE HAPPENING IN THE SIGN OF GEMINI

Moreover, in the sign of Gemini, it means that we will be called to explore and experiment on new interests, hobbies, talents, relationships, look for new ways to generate money, to reinvent ourselves in our career, do a rebranding or look for new ways to connect and communicate with others. This is what the New Moon will initiate a cycle of, bringing adjustments, modification and change in the area of life it will transit in our chart. However, from the New Moon to the Full Moon, the theme will be confusion, nebulousness, fantasy and illusion as it invites us to release reflect, revise and reassess around these matters and enter a period of experimentation. This is to proximately let go of what we discovered that is no longer aligned with what we desire.

MERCURY & VENUS SQUARE NEPTUNE IN PISCES

These aspects indicates that it will be dismantling the veils that fog our perception. Waking us up from deceit, delusions, fantasy and the inauthentic around the themes Venus reigns: desires, values, relationships and finances. For instance, it will be revealing the face behind the mask, the illusions behind relationships and bringing change to them so they become aligned with what we truly want.

These planetary alignments during the New Moon will shed light then to all that’s under an illusion in our lives. Unfortunately, this may bring deception, as what we had in a pedestal, may fall and what we thought we wanted no longer feels like it. However, this is necessary so then we receive the illumination that the Venus Star Point will bring.

NEW MOON SEXTILE MARS IN PISCES

This aspect reinforces all that has been expressed. We’re entering a period of experimentation, as we may feel unclear of our objectives or desires at the moment. However, as this aspect is positive, it indicates that this uncertainty is what will lead us to clarity by delving first into the fog.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

The New Moon in Gemini is an opportunity to begin a process of self exploration and of rediscovering yourself; to introspect on your current desires and analyze if they’re coming from the heart and not from what society may have conditioned you to want. It’s also ideal to reflect on how you’re expressing or presenting yourself and if it aligns with who you truly are. This makes it a potent time to begin embracing and letting out your authentic self.

However, you don’t need to know or be clear of the path you want to follow during this time. This is why it’s perfect also to begin experimenting, as the trial and error will eventually lead to the discovery.
