ABOUT THE DARK/ BALSAMIC PHASE

The Waning Dark Moon is the phase when it’s still displaying a thin silver line, at the verge of becoming invisible in the night sky as it approaches the Sun. Symbolically, it represents the declining phase of the cycle of life, beginning two nights before the New Moon, which is when it has lost all of its illumination. Thus, this phase prepares us for the rebirth and new beginning that comes after the exact conjunction of the two luminaries.

RETURNING TO THE CAVE

The Waning Dark Moon represents the time when we’re heading back to the cave, when we return from our journey through the outside and head towards our inner/underworld. As the energies decay, we are invited to rest, recharge, put an end to negative cycles and habits, break old patterns, release from energetic or body toxins, banish what we want out or cut the cords that attach us to the past. It’s when we enter the Crone phase, commune with the Dark Goddess and meet with our shadow side.

THE WANING PHASE OF TAURUS SEASON

The Waning Dark Moon of Taurus Season begins in Aries, the sign of the last astrological month in which the hidden wounds of the ego were illuminated because of the Sun, Venus & Chiron’s conjunctions during the Venus Star point and the Full Moon in Libra, bringing out also suppressed rage and shedding light to what conflicts needed to be resolved internally and/or with the other. This took us to the New Moon in Aries square to Pluto, making us confront our inner demons, inviting us to break free from the chains that have been binding us in toxic and destructive cycles.

Thus, the Full Moon in Scorpio was the last drop that filled the cup of anything that remained contained or unchanged after these past transits, for it was the climax of what began brewing since the Aries New Moon, unearthing hidden secrets, bringing out the shadow and awakening us to the power of the dark goddess. Hence, this lunar event illuminated what needed to be purged, released and banished, reflecting the period of chaos before the new order that initiates with the New Moon in Taurus of May 11th.

WANING DARK MOON IN ARIES: MAY 7TH – 9TH

The Waning Dark Moon in Aries will be merging with Chiron, the wounded healer, taking us back to the themes of the last astrological season and New Moon. The wounds that haven’t healed will be the ones that surface during this time, making this the final step of healing of the process that began since the lunar climax in Libra. Additionally, it’s an excellent time to review your progress, how things have changed and how you’ve begun to heal ever since these lunar transits.

The Moon will also be sextiling Mercury and Venus in Gemini, helping us express our needs and desires, but also communicate your feelings and the suppressed emotions. When the Moon is at the late degrees, it will be making a square to Pluto, making this dark moon perfect for banishing rituals, for cutting cords, releasing and purifying. All of the toxic, the negative and the destructive can be cleansed and purified from your energetic body during this time.

WANING DARK MOON IN TAURUS: MAY 9TH- 11TH

On May 9th, the Waning Moon will change to Taurus. Thus, although the New Moon will happen in this sign, the cycle is yet to be restored since it is still in its death and decaying phase as it approaches the Sun to become completely obscured and hidden in our night sky. Hence, this is the most powerful time for connecting with your dark feminine energy or your goddess. The New Moon in Taurus will happen right conjunct Black Moon Lilith. Hence, this waning Moon will be approaching her, who’s next to the Sun.

PREPARING FOR THE NEW MOON IN TAURUS: CONNECTING WITH OUR DARK FEMININE ENERGY, SHADOW WORK AND BANISHING

The fact that this new lunar cycle begins with a powerful influence of Lilith is indicative that it’s marking the time in which the dark feminine within and the shadow will be integrated after having been occulted as illuminated with the lunar events of Aries Season and the Full Moon in Scorpio. These intense, chaotic and cathartic transits came for the purpose of awakening this energy by bringing out repressed rage, suppressed emotions, desires and anything we have been burying precisely because of not wanting to recognize our accept them as a part of who we’re or in order to not cause conflict with others. This shatters our personality and creates our shadow, which may project and act in more devious ways than when it’s integrated.

Thus, this makes this Waning Dark Moon excellent for shadow work and for connecting with our Dark Goddess energy by bringing all of this into healthy expression and for deciding to banish or leave behind all that longer resonates with your authentic self. The energy may feel volatile and intense since the Moon will be merging first with Uranus. However, this is in order to prepare for the new cycle initiating with the New Moon in which a new stability will begin.
