ABOUT NEW MOONS

The New/Dark Moon marks the beginning of an emotional cycle that will reach its climax in six months with the Full Moon of the same zodiac sign. Every month it happens in the same sign and degree as the Sun. Thus, it occurs when both luminaries are in a perfect conjunction that results with the Moon being completely overshadowed. Symbolically, this merges our external identity/conscience (Sun), with our inner, subconscious world and emotional nature (Moon).

This is when the waning moon has reached completion and it’s in its darkest phase, making us go deep within. Therefore, it’s still a moment of stillness, recharging and for retreating. However, as it also represents the time to plant seeds, and the Moon approaches to display its first silver line, it’s perfect to set intentions that you want to manifest in sixth months with the Full Moon.

NEW MOON IN CANCER

The luminaries will merge in the 28 degree of the Cardinal and Water sign ruled by the Queen of the Night. Cancer Season came with two New Moons, one at the beginning and the other at the end. The first was a Solar Eclipse and this last one is a Black Moon, a term given to the second of the astrological month, a slightly rare phenomenon that occurs about every two to three years. It’s also the first New Moon in the sign of the crab that’s not eclipsing the Sun since 2018, marking the end of fated lessons and challenges in the area of life in our chart ruled by this sign and opening a new fertile cycle of six months.

CANCER SEASON: JUNE 20TH- JULY 22ND

The last Solar Eclipse in Cancer of June 21st marked a karmic restart and a new beginning. However, since it happened while Mercury was going retrograde in that same area and it occurred two weeks before the last Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn, it indicated that there were possible set backs, things to revise, transmute or shed there before we could see the new emerge and for it to be ideal to begin a manifestation process.

Hence, Cancer Season was a period of transition from the old to the new and it began fermenting that new start behind the scenes. However, it’s from this Black Moon in Cancer that we’re going to begin meeting the transformation. We needed a last breakthrough before we could embark on a new journey and begin applying the lessons of the lunar nodes through the signs of Cancer and Capricorn. Now it’s finally a time to set intentions of what you want to see manifest in six months with the Full Moon in Cancer of December 29th 2020. However, it’s not a light hearted New Moon, for it will be exactly opposing Saturn, signifying the need to break free from resistance, restrictions and limitations while also highlighting the need for commitment and responsibility when it comes to applying the lessons learned.

THE NORTH NODE IN CANCER LESSON

This area of life activated by these lunar events is one ruled by Cancer. Hence, it’s where we like to feel protected, secure and nurtured, where we feel at home or rooted. With the North Node and eclipses in this sign from 2018 to 2020, we learned a new paradigm and of expressing or applying this energy. Therefore, a new perspective around our sense of home and belonging and of expressing the Mother Archetype, which not only protects, but creates life. Thus, these lunar events created a new fertile ground and now we will have a different way of taking care of what we will begin creating and manifesting by also applying the individual lessons learned with the North Node in Cancer.

THE SIX MONTH WINDOW OF THIS NEW EMOTIONAL CYCLE

The Full Moon in Cancer of December 29th of this year, will be culminating the two emotional cycles that initiated with the Solar Eclipse and this New Moon, one of endings and one of releasing. During the first half of this six month period, Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter will be going retrograde, helping us release what is no longer a part of our path that was revealed with the Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn. However, on the second half, when they station direct, it’s the time to rebuild and restructure. For instance, we will be meeting the final transformation in both opposite areas of life during this six month window.

NEW MOON OPPOSITE SATURN

This is because this New Moon will be exactly opposing Saturn Retrograde and closely to the Jupiter and Pluto conjunction in the sign of Capricorn. On July 1st, Saturn re-entered this sign after spending three months in Aquarius. Hence, it returned to the area of life where the South Node was to help you tear the old structures remaining, including any external or psychological limits and restrictions that may be preventing you from meeting progress. It being a part of this new emotional cycle, indicates  a need to break free from them, from something Saturnian, be it responsibilities, commitments,  pressure, burn-out, stress, fears, or karmic cycles that keep repeating.

NEW MOON OPPOSITE JUPITER & PLUTO

Where the eclipses in Capricorn occurred is where there have been karmic endings, destruction and tearing of structures, for they happened with the South Node, the point of dissolution. To make these matters even more significant and intense, this is also where Pluto, the Lord of Death, have been transiting and it has played a significant role in the lunar events, as they always conjuncted or opposed it. However, this dwarf planet doesn’t only rule death, but rebirth and transformation, it takes us to the flames of the underworld and the dark night so that we rise with a brighter conscious, renewed and revitalized.

Next is Jupiter, a benefic planet that brings progress, abundance, expansion, success and good fortune. However, in the sign of Capricorn, it’s at a fall, simply meaning that it’s in the sign where it’s least comfortable and in order to receive its blessings, one must go through an uncomfortable process as it may require, effort, hard work or difficult decisions. Additionally, since it’s known as the planet of expansion, it has grown what the South Node, the eclipses and Pluto have been brewing. Hence, expanding the endings and the death and rebirth process.

THE JUPITER AND PLUTO CONJUNCTION

The Jupiter & Pluto conjunction has occurred already two times this year and will have their last one on November 12th and what they’re bringing is ultimately collective and individual transformation of the structures that have been tearing, this is a sign that those that fall will be rebuilt from the ground up. The New Moon opposing these two indicate that there is still a layer to strip away from, but that this emotional cycle will be bringing a complete transmutation.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

This New Moon gives a highly fertile energy and opens a new emotional cycle of six months, making it an opportunity to set intentions of what you want to manifest in that area of life activated. Its opposition with the Jupiter and Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, augurs transformation, the rebirth and the restructuring of what was teared in order to create a new reality. However, its exact opposition aspect with Saturn signifies that it’s through commitment, effort, endurance and releasing resistance that we will be able to see a situation transmute and manifest results in that area.
