ABOUT LUNAR ECLIPSES

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth and the Moon are in a perfect or close alignment, with this last one falling between these two other spheres. Hence, why they can only occur during a Full Moon which is when the luminaries are in an exact opposition and the Moon is completely illuminated by the light it reflects from the Sun. However, we have an eclipse of the Moon because as it passes behind Earth from the perspective of the Sun, the solar rays are completely or partially blocked from reaching the lunar surface. Thus, depending on the precision of the alignment, lunar eclipses are classified as total, partial or penumbral.

A Total Lunar Eclipse or Blood Moon occurs when these celestial bodies are perfectly aligned and the Moon is completely immersed in the umbra, Earth’s Shadow, turning completely red. However, this reflected light is actually the atmosphere of Earth being refracted unto it. A partial one occurs when they’re in an imperfect alignment, but the Moon falls partially in the umbra, resulting with only a fraction being shadowed. Finally, a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse occurs when they’re also imperfectly aligned, but the Moon passses through the penumbra, which is the outer part of umbra, causing only a subtle dim to the lunar surface.

THE ASTROLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF LUNAR ECLIPSES

Lunar Eclipses triple the energy of a Full Moon as they’re loaded with the pulling force of the lunar nodes since these events can only happen when the Sun & Moon are close to them, happening about every six months and in pairs since they occur in opposite signs and in two different astrological seasons. They’re the North (Dragon’s head) and the South Node (Dragon’s tail), invisible points that indicate where eclipses occur which is when the Moon passes through where its orbit intersects with the ecliptic, the path of the Sun. Astrologically, they have a powerful significance and that’s that they are karmic points that act as portals that bring outflowing new energy, opportunities and open a new and unexplored path while closing the doors to the past and dissolving what can no longer remain.

The effects of the eclipses are much longer, intense and profound than a regular New and Full Moon, lasting for approximately six months. A Lunar Eclipse that happens beside the Dragon’s head, which is the point of intake and destiny, things come to a climax to call in change and a path to a new horizon opens before us. In terms of the collective, it potently increases people’s focus on the matters that the zodiac sign and its planetary ruler represents. In contrast, when it falls in the sign of the South Node, the point of karmic dissolution and surrender, it’s the ultimate eclipse of endings, inviting the collective and the individuals to leave something behind. Here, the collective is focused on dimming or decreasing the themes of the sign it’s in.

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN GEMINI

The Penumbral Lunar Eclipse will occur at 8 degrees Gemini, an air and mutable sign ruled by Mercury. This lunar event is the preamble of the Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius taking place on December 14th and it will be illuminating what will produce an effect for this new lunar cycle of the South Node/ Dragon’s Tail. This lunar eclipse is one of the North Node/ Dragon’s Head, which is the point of destiny that amplifies what it touches.

Therefore, as it’s falling in the sign of Gemini, this lunar event is about the media, the press, the stock market, transportation, trade and commerce, reflecting the changes they have been and may continue meeting for up to six months and bringing a massive collective focus to them during the two week portal of this lunar climax. It will also be finalizing the change of direction they have taken since May 2020 when the North Node entered this sign and when the New Moon in Gemini initiated the now concluded cycle.

After these eclipses and the effects of this pandemic, how these mercurial themes have been operating will no longer be the same. Hence, how and where we trade, buy from or sell to and how we consume, give and exchange information is what’s meeting major changes after the collapse of structures and the economy in 2020. In regards to our values and perspectives, it’s inviting the collective to embrace diversity of people, interests and opinions, as well as to begin adapting to the new reality in order to move forward, a preview of what 2021 marked by aquarian energy will be all about.

MERCURY IN SCORPIO, LORD OF THIS LUNAR ECLIPSE: INFORMATION COMING TO LIGHT, SOLVING ENIGMAS AND SUSPICIONS

Further, this lunar event highlights that information will come to light, changing the opinion (Gemini) of the public (Moon) or the collective finally coming to conclusions. This doesn’t mean that it won’t come with emotional upheavals and an influx of devisiveness, but considering that Mercury, the lord of this eclipse, will be in a positive aspect with Saturn, and Jupiter, the lord of the opposed Sun and South Node in Sagittarius, what it unearths may be factual or irrefutable. Thus, this Lunar Eclipse may mark the end of all the misinformation and conspiracies happening and individually, it may shed light to the illusions we may have been under.

NORTH AND SOUTH NODE SQUARING NEPTUNE IN PISCES: WHICH SIDE HOLDS THE TRUTH?

However, the lunar nodes will be squaring Neptune until February, highlighting the collective divisiveness as to who holds the absolute truth and which side is on the right or disillusioned side. Nonetheless, this is precisely what the collective will be dissuading for six months with the Solar Eclipse of the Dragon’s tail: the beliefs that create more division, and also the fall to those in power (Eclipsed Sun) that impose their disillusioned and biased truth or discriminating or prejudicial beliefs, which is the shadow side of Sagittarius. Thus, this is when Jupiter and Saturn will come with their grand conjunction in Aquarius, one week after the Solar Eclipse, initiating a new era in which all groups will come together for the common goal to bring progress and innovation to society and rebuild what collapsed during 2020.

WHAT THIS LUNAR ECLIPSE MEANS FOR OUR PERSONAL EVOLUTION

The Lunar Eclipse in Gemini represents a time of illumination and dissolving of illusions for all of us in regards to where it transits in our chart and how it impacts our natal planets. For instance, this lunar event offer us clarity as to what new direction we can begin taking that aligns with our evolutionary purpose. Thus, bringing fresh opportunities as we follow a new vision, interests and an unexplored path, reflecting how we will be adapting to the new aquarian reality in order to meet material and personal progress and growth in 2021.

This is because Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius will be in a positive aspect with the North Node in Gemini during the next upcoming months when the effects of this eclipse are still active, supporting this. Note that this is a process that has been subtly in effect since May 5th when the lunar nodes changed to Gemini and Sagittarius until January 2022 when they finally leave these signs.
