ABOUT NEW MOONS

The New/Dark Moon marks the beginning of an emotional cycle that will reach its climax in six months with the Full Moon of the same zodiac sign. Every month it happens in the same sign and degree as the Sun. Thus, it occurs when both luminaries are in a perfect conjunction that results with the Moon being completely overshadowed. Symbolically, this merges our external identity/conscience (Sun), with our inner, subconscious world and emotional nature (Moon).

This is when the waning moon has reached completion and it’s in its darkest phase, making us go inward. Therefore, it’s still a moment of stillness, recharging and for retreating. However, as the dawn always comes after the darkness it also announces a new beginning that we’re not able to see just yet. Thus, it makes it perfect to set intentions that you want to manifest in six months with the Full Moon of the same sign.

NEW MOON IN SCORPIO

The New Moon will occur at 23 degrees Scorpio, a water and fixed sign ruled by Mars & Pluto. This lunar event marks the time of rebirth and renewal after the death and introspective phase of this Scorpio Season, making it an extremely fertile New Moon for us to begin transforming an area of our lives through our forceful, passionate, devoted and committed action. This is after the energies shift from propelling us to go inward to moving forward because Mars, the ruler of this New Moon, and Mercury, which was retrograde through this sign, will be finally in direct motion just before the start of this new lunar cycle.

A TRANSFORMATIVE AND FERTILE NEW MOON

Further, the luminaries will be in an exact harmonious alignment with the Jupiter and Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, confirming and intensifying the transformative and fruitful qualities of this lunation and also that whatever we begin rebuilding or creating from scratch will become established and be long lasting, making it perfect for us to commit towards materializing our vision, alchemizing an area of our lives through reaching our highest potential and/or achieving our goals. However, this New Moon is asking us to harness the saturnian Capricorn energy in order to meet the results of our intentions and that’s to become structured, committed and disciplined, but also to tap into our personal power and our resiliency to stand up after the fall (Jupiter & Pluto). We may harvest the blooms of what we begin committing to from this lunar event on April 26th 2021 with the Full Moon in Scorpio.

MARS, SIGNIFICATOR OF THIS LUNAR EVENT

Mars, planet of action and our drive, was going retrograde since September 9th. However, on November 13th, just two days before this New Moon, it stationed direct at 15 degrees Aries 14′. This is relevant because since Mars is the co-ruler of Scorpio, it indicates that it’s the significator of this New Moon, which means that it rules this new emotional cycle. Thus, its position in the sky hints what it will be all about.

MARS STATIONS DIRECT ON THE 13TH, BUT BEGINS TO MOVE FORWARD THE DAY OF THIS NEW MOON

To note, when a planet stations direct, it doesn’t begin moving forward immediately, it slows to a standstill. Hence, stays without moving for a while. For instance, reinforced by the Waning Moon, it was still not a time to take action or to initiate something at that date, it was more to “heat up the engines” and to prepare for the kickstart when the pause ended. Interestingly, Mars will be stationary until the day of this New Moon! It’s on the day of this lunar event when it will begin moving forward. Thus, this tells us that this new lunar cycle possesses powerful action oriented energy, making it excellent to leverage it for initiating a project and/or beginning to climb towards our goals during the day of this lunar event.

MERCURY RETROGRADE IN SCORPIO

Mercury, the planet of communication, was going retrograde from October 13th to the 27th in the same sign as this New Moon. Thus, this area that’s meeting renewal and transformation was before in a period of deep introspection, revisions and initial confusion. We may have been called to release and detach from the old methods that may have been keeping us stagnant or to heal from past experiences in the area of life where it was transiting. However, the oppositions between this planet and Uranus may have illuminated precisely what we needed to change and how we could innovate by coming out of the zone of our comfort and security (Uranus in Taurus) or it may have come with unexpected and transformative shifts that were out of our control.

MERCURY OPPOSITE URANUS IN TAURUS

However, because Mercury was going retrograde, we may have felt unsettled, bewildered or uncertain, but now that the fog dissipated and the energies are propelling us to move forward ever since it stationed direct and went back to Scorpio on November 10, we may begin to feel clear and headed towards the right direction. Thus, from this New Moon is when it’s ideal to begin making the innovative and transformative changes that the retrograde called for us to make or to begin adapting to the new reality that it may have brought into our lives. During the week of the New Moon, Mercury will be making its third and last opposition to Uranus, highlighting we were being prepared for this new cycle by awakening us to begin making the radical shifts.

NEW MOON SEXTILE SATURN, JUPITER & PLUTO

Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto have been reflecting the collapse of structures in the collective. Individually, it has been affecting us in an area of our lives. However, as soon Saturn and Jupiter will be entering Aquarius, these endings and falls are coming to an end. It’s finally time to begin rebuilding or repairing what got teared. Pluto will remain there for a couple of years to represent our resilience, our rise and the transformation of this area after new structures were created.

Hence, this is the last New Moon in our lifetime we will see that will harmoniously align with this Capricorn trio, making it extremely powerful and important as what we begin working for, building and creating may determine the rest of our lives since it ensures permanent or long lasting results. Thus, whatever you begin around this time or whichever intentions you set and begin committing towards repairing, achieving, transforming or materializing, know that it has potential for success. This is also because the blend of Earth and Water elements results in a highly fertile soil for the seeds that you plant. This is the treasure we may find after going deep into our underworld and experiencing the death phase of Scorpio season.

The New Moon sextiling the ruler of this sign, Pluto, truly highlights that a new dawn, restoration, renewal and transformation is upon us. However, because Mars, the other ruler, will begin moving forward during this lunar event, it hints that the responsibility is on us to benefit from these energies by taking forceful action on our ideas and our desire to create the alchemical change we desire. Though, it’s through harnessing the disciplined, committed and structured Capricorn qualities that we will be making it happen!
